  • Surf Rock is Dead - First Edition "drama" EP Vinyl & Limited Run "Melting Faces" T-Shirt Bundle
    T-Shirt/Shirt + Digital Album

Get a pre-order copy of the First Edition "drama" EP and limited run "Melting Faces" t-shirt design now.

    From Surf Rock is Dead:
The name “drama” came to us when reflecting on the EP and thinking “wow, we sound dramatic as hell on these songs, don’t we?”  “drama” conveys more moods and feels than our previous work —like that sinking feeling knowing that it’s time to end a relationship; old friendships in despair; hyper-irrational crushes; and losing one’s sense of identity–all voiced on the EP.

We’re covering such a big range of emotions, “drama” just felt right. There’s also something about the iconic symbol of drama, the laughing and crying masks that represents the spectrum of emotion — beautiful and kind of creepy at the same time. Maybe just like the EP?

pretenders 03:26
Leave me here Who knows what’s even real? Turning away Yet blend in to appeal Where the wind blows It sinks into your core What you say, your display All just shades of a chameleon Leave me here Feeling like you’ve gone (I see ya) Who do I see? I can’t believe it’s all you need To fit in closely Faked that Let’s try and be honest now Take back everything you wanted now Fuck that tell me what’s up anyhow
2.
Now it’s time for change What made us so estranged, oh no She said that I could be Anything that he would disapprove Help me understand Help me understand oh yeah We’re fucked for what it’s worth How can we stop all this back and forth? They left without my key Well it seems our friendship’s over A pattern weaves its way up in my life again One time, Two times, Three times, Before another Can we salvage what’s leftover? Does it show? We were real tight Maybe I fucked up Can we see what’s good tomorrow? Help me understand Help me understand oh yeah We’re fucked for what it’s worth How can we stop all this back and forth? They left without my key

tough love 03:12
Found ya lying there With a funny look and frizzy matted hair Dizzy eyed and unaware As if you’ve been in bed all afternoon I saw From that moment Your boy Took you home and I know You’re not a kid no more Now he’s Gone and dried up Now you’re Bout to give up I know what I said before But you’re Fucking up Tough love Ain’t enough You’ll never be In my way The reaper came but not today So say it with me now You’re enough Your mom wants You to go back I want You to throwback To that girl With that glow in her eyes I saw From that moment Your boy Took you home and I know You’re not a kid no more But you’re Fucking up Tough Love Ain’t enough You’ll never be In my way The reaper came but not today So say it with me now You’re enough I hope that now you see You have much more than all your life’s debris

so comfy 03:56
You’ve got Me feeling so comfy My favorite sweater Can’t compare to you And it’s like We can do nothing Yet it still feels like It’s everything Who thought that something could be like what we have No more Dm’ing in my bed like rehab If you could see what you mean to me And we can defy all the jealously (Is this even real or hypothetical?) We can be so comfy You’ve got me comfy A gift that I’ll entertain We’ll try to make it I feel you in my arms We’ve got that feeling I can’t believe it Oh I can see we’re a whole I must be dreaming your senses teasing Oh this can never get old Who thought that something could be like what we have No more Dm’ing in my bed like rehab You’ve got me feeling so comfy
5.
It’s written in my cards; could it be wrong? Do I believe I am that strong? She left me in dark, it felt so long Did you deceive, do we belong? What could it be? Show me the world What did you see? Show me the world Do you believe? Show me the world Did you deceive? I met you in the sun for a whole in one Now you can be somewhere to run Sitting in my bed filling up head What do I see if I am dead What could it be? Show me the world What did you see? Show me the world Do you believe? Show me the world Did you deceive? (I’m climbing up the tree There’s a ladder to my dreams) By design Things gotta go Gotta go Gotta go Right sometimes Its bout time Show me the world Show me the world Show me the world Show me the world

Lay it down thick on me Tell me what I need to hear I know it’s the same I know it’s the same Take it back to last fall Summer’s grace had left us all I know we’re the same I know we’re the same We told ourselves if things fell Apart we’d be grown up about it Easy to say So easy to say Now we’re Coming down crashing Are we Quick like a fashion For real I didn’t know things could be this way And I know it’s gonna take some time For me to try and find my vibe Cuz I don’t even know me I might just disown me I feel like things aren’t getting better Oh I know it’s gonna take some time for me to know me Looking out my window Streets before me haven’t changed But they’re not the same No they’re not the same Now you text me nothing A pointless “hi” (high) to get you by It’s always the same It’s always the same Now we’re Coming down crashing Are we Quick like a fashion For real I didn’t know things could be this way And I know it’s gonna take some time For me to try and find my vibe Cuz I don’t even know me I might just disown me I feel like things aren’t getting better Oh I know it’s gonna take some time for me to know me
